Corrado, Carley

Carley is a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UC Santa Cruz and will finish her PhD in the spring of 2011.  Her research focuses on making and characterizing doped nanomaterials with the goal of creating low cost high power efficiency electroluminescent lighting devices.  Her long-term goal, seeded by her passion and enthusiasm for teaching, is to become a professor at a college or university.  ISEE’s PDP has provided her a fountain of knowledge of how to apply the science of learning to teaching.  Carley is excited to use these tools in the classroom and put into practice teaching science using this innovative “inquiry” based process.
